Over engineered The Cseries downfall is....... it’s over engineered. For an aircraft this size they range, the technology,the design is too much. Airlines rather use the 737 max on long thin routes. Just look how air Canada is using them.
Delta and air Canada got Cseries because they were sold below cost. The cseries is too much of a good thing. Without a 200 seater Cseries the program won’t succeed with airbus. If it does succeed all the R&D belongs to airbus
