Bbd - Alstorm

Let me know if I'm wrong but when the deal happened in February 2020, the Euro was cheaper than today. This will add about 700 millions more un Cad/USD dollars for the transaction!

I found the following link, you just have to validate your math. https://www.x-rates.com/average/?from=CAD&to=EUR&amount=1&year=2020

Yep, Euro was at about 1.0 when the deal has been made Actually, it"s at 1.22 (Euro = USD) So 7.2 Billions euro = 7.84 billions USD in april        7.2 Billions euro = 8.78 billion USD in january So your numbers are right (if we cut 2.2 billions as the part for CDPQ)         5 billions euro = 5.45 billions USD in april  & ...more

Very good point, comes out to about 800 million cnd, and with more or less 2.4 billions outstanding shares that's about 0.33$ per share...if I'm doing the math right ;)

I don't believe any further benefit to exchange rate, they had a fixed rate included in deal
Comment by Willy2k on Jan 24, 2021 5:24pm
Again more speculation . 29th we shall see excatly what the deal is . I doubt there is any increase of dollar amount other the exchange rate of euro to usd there will no extra money for the new orders or contracts . The deal was done already
