Connecting the Dots...maybe

The recent article about the new plant at YYZ has got me thinking.

With such a large plant, supposedly to build 100 Globals a year, is the Bomber currently building that many? How much extra assembly capacity does this represent compared to today and what could be the plan here?

Suggestive of bigger plans then what is currently being executed.  Any thoughts?

What is the current FAL size T Downsview and how big is the yyz FAL? Do you have the numbers to compare?

The article said 1 million square feet and 100 Globals per year.  I have no idea on the size of Downsview. But why would you build such a large capability if you don't plan to fill it?

If you don't know how big Downsview FAL is then how do you known what they are building in yyz is too big?

Recently Airbus told its A220 fuselage supplier to stuff the fuselage with as much internals components as possible so AB has minimum foot print and work at FAL. Its also easier to build fuselage around internal components then to take it in thru the little door opening after the nose and tail is installed. ...more
