Luxury Tax came into effect Sept 1, 2022

Wouldn't this make it unlikely that any Canadian client bought or took delivery of a business jet from Bombardier in the fourth quarter? Surely they would have had the foresight to purchase their jet prior to Sept 1 rather than get dinged with a huge tax.

We have at least one canadian delivery : a CL 350 (or 3500) bought by Sunwest Aviation the nov 25.

This will apply to individual buyer/user only.  If the aircraft is bought for charter business, or is owned by company to transport employees etc then these taxes dont apply. Keep in mind some high net worth individual buy bizz jets and have it registered and operate under a charter company.  Where they have access to their own jet or another individuals jet if their own jet is not ...more
