The success recipeBombardier is now my most profitable investment. The last 3 years give me a huge return, more than any I had from a stock before. I use a mix of shares and sometimes options without day trading or frequent in and out.
The AC 2012-2019 period is still the most profitable in % given the wealth I had at the time but not in $.
The recipe to have a winner is simple but not frequent; 3 elements have to be there:
- a depressed price (a near bankruptcy price)
- an industry in good shape (the business jets industry is healthy and growing),
With these elements, chances are good to change the ''bankruptcy'' price in a ''recovery'' one, then in a ''normal'' one.
The moves by Martel since february is an example of his management skills. Facing a volatile SP he made 3 presentations but only to selected investors (not for retail but professionnals), he put a buy back program (small but efficient) sending a clear message and he scedule an investor day adressing specifically the fears of many in the market ( the clean sheet problem and the pure player one) showing a bright future with the current niche.
