BBTV has tonnes of upside from here, says Scotia Capital

“Management has guided for EBITDA-positive in 2022 which is sooner than we previously expected,” Fan wrote. “Based on our F22 opex estimate of approximately $55 million, we expect BBTV will achieve approximately $55 million of gross profit and $618 million of revenue to reach breakeven. Our revised revenue and gross profit estimates reflect management’s confidence in Plus Solution growth and the continued secular tailwinds of digital advertising.”

This just proves my point even more!!!! Postiive EBITDA means no profits for at least 6-9 months. Hang tight, you will be able to buy these shares at 3-4 bucks or lower soon and then go all in. imagine buying at 3 bucks and sellling at 20 when they are profitable. dont get into the FOMO. its obvious insiders are trading shares to show enthusiam right now. stock market is just transferring ...more

While you are waiting "For the low fours" ,  you missed an opp. for the "Low sixes". Nobody selling to you in the "low sixes" today.  VERY un wise to be greedy when your "target' is unwarranted.

the best part of the market is that none of us determine what the price will be. I am not bashing this company, its actually the oppositie. they can be profitable in teh long term and make good money as long as they are a market leader.  here is the problem. this is still trading in the low 6. The earnings were obvioulsy not bad, but it still isnt jumping up to 7,8,10,12. why? that's my ...more

IMO, this is one of those stocks where "good" earnings will likely not do much for the share price. The reason is the staying power of the revenue is questionable. Revenue is backed by weak contracts (they expire in short order and need to be renewed) and the revenue is completely dependent on external creators. Revenue growth is dependent on their ability to sign up more suckers to ...more

Wrong again Misterwurst, the company has discussed the fact that it has industry low churn rates and has demonstrated many years of strong revenue growth which is directly orthogonal to your comment.  Once again you are fear-mongering.  During a difficult period, the company just demonstrated an acceleration of revenue growth from the previous quarter on the back of improved PLUS ...more

The opposite can be said about you. Account created in May, almost all posts about BBTV, ultra bullish, take negative views on BBTV personally and refuse to answer if you or your friends or family work for BBTV. If anything, you are the suspicious actor. How did you know Manulife was the investor? Why did the company point out the Manulife fund was "long only" after we debated that here? ...more

Lazaros - My posts are not ultra positive, they are fair and factual and not intended to mislead like the other guy.  Given that there's only one trillion dollar fund that makes investments in small cap companies in Canada, it is highly believed on the street that Manulife was the likely investor.  If you have capital markets relationships, you would have assumed this as well.  ...more

Winning these arguments is like winning a gold medal at the special olympics. You may have won gold but you still are a retard.
Comment by Lazaros on Aug 21, 2021 6:12am
There are three trillion dollar asset managers and not a single trillion dollar Canadian 'fund'. Second, you are ultra bullish when you look at greater than 50% losses from the IPO and preach how the company is doing great. Again avoiding answering if you or your friends and family work for BBTV. Which, depending on your role or connections to the company could be extremely problematic. In ...more

This message board used to be a good place for the exchange of information and opinions, now it's become no different than the trash name calling you see on yahoo... Who really gives a $#&!? Who is who on a public message board. Can you post something intelligent about why a company with a solid Q2 in a space that is rapidly growing that addressed their debt issues in your opinion has no ...more

I've made a specific argument. The share price will tell us who is correct or now. At the moment mostly every investor in this stock has lost money. Especially the investors who particupated in the IPO who are looking at a 60% loss in under a year. I believe that this company has no long term future. When I consider what they actually do to earn money it's clear that the uniqueness and ...more

marketguru, I can tell you that this will not stop, despite your wishes............ I can tell you that your solution is to hit the ignore button (it usually takes 3 times)............ I can also tell you that you are dealing with paid $hit disturbers, that do whatever they can to create a mess of what should be a nice forum, in the hopes of suppressing share price as long as possible so their ...more

"I can tell you that it is a VERY POSITIVE share price signal for longs to see," LOL. Basically you're saying that if others join a forumn with a negative opinion of a company, to just ignore it and BUY! That sounds ridiculous. Wouldn't it make sense to consider both sides when making a buy/sell decision?

Everyone agrees this is a rapidly growing market. BBTV has a huge market share and has first mover advantage. Content creators will need to up their game to compete with studios that are posting clips of famous shows on YouTube. Large studios will need to compete with low budget highly viewed content. BBTV is providing the tools for content creators to up their game and monetize on different ...more

"BBTV is providing the tools for content creators to up their game and monetize on different platforms" Can you provide some examples of the tools, how they work, and how they provide value? NFTs are a brand new area for this company so let's not include those. "Buying a company like BBTV to get into this market is chump change for these big players."   What ...more

Thanks for the good questions wurst. BBTV execs have been at this for a while and they bring relationships and personal know how to this new market. I agree anyone else can do this for themselves but the market is so big that some majors may do it on their own and others will buy their way in. Providing content is getting harder all the time for individuals and learning how to add value to their ...more
