Bell's LTE-M network will be up in early 2018. Based on the success with the Henry of Pelham, I think Bell will start putting lots of energy into getting subscribers on their LTE-M network... After all it is a big capital expenditure and the market is arguably bigger than the telematics market. The LTE-M beacons for capturing the data are made by BeWhere. They are the first mover in the space, and have a strong relationship with Bell. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to acquire BeWhere next for their LTE-M beacons.
"Bell's leadership in LTE-M wireless technology and in the IoT space is a result of our continued investment and innovation in broadband communications networks and services," said Claire Gillies, Vice President, Bell Mobility. "The LTE-M network enables smart sensors to collect and send data over a wider range and with much better battery life – a perfect fit for Henry of Pelham, wineries and growers across the country and many other industries."
