Morning nat gas report

Morning nat gas report

Fri Dec 10 09:36:01 2021 EDT

09:35 AM EST, 12/10/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas prices rose early on Friday despite mild forecasts for big markets following a larger than expected withdrawal from storage last week.

Gas for January delivery was last seen up US$0.06 to US$3.87 per million British thermal units.

The rise came even as long-term forecasts from the National Weather Service sees warmer than usual weather for most states east of the Rocky Mountains for the next two weeks, cutting into heating demand.

The Energy Information Administration on Thursday reported U.S natural-gas inventories fell by 59-billion cubic feet last week, more than consensus expectations for a 55-billion bcf drop. Stock ended the week at 3.51-trillion cubic feet, 2.5% under the five-year average.
