The reporting suggests a massive surplus due to the loss of one export facility and disregards the actual events unfolding . Take the New England area , 30% of the electricity generated on Dec 26th was from burning oil . The reason was to ensure enough nat gas to heat homes and buildings but think about that , 3 of every 10 customers from Boston to Banger were powered by crude oil . 

If you check the long range forecast , the US will be back into cold air again in early Jan . Despite the narrative , winter has not been canceled and Freeport should be reopened in Jan as well . This lack of liquidity will continue to offer deals as O&G is always a "sell first , check facts later" . No news is always interpreted as a reason to sell .
