Not sure I understand why it is out of the favour of the investor with a dividend of 6.96% currently...
it is making money quarter after quarter. It is not under severe watch like TD bank .
interest rate cut just started. Monetary fund now give just 4,5% in Canada for the best one.
buying BNS seems a good place to put new fresh money. Even better in a TFSA. 

there is growth potential for the next 2-3 years with good dividend. 

investing is alway a personal decision but this opportunity is one of the best in the current market.

banks in Canada so far is still a good place. We will see the high of three years ago with more interest rate cuts.
