Typically, in an efficient market, most preferred shares see their bid reduced by the amount of the quarterly dividend the day they go ex-dividend (14th in this case).

However considering the low volume and large spread between bid and ask already experienced by BPO preferred shares, each issue may show different result.

Also, this is December and often transactions are targetted towards "tax loss selling" which may or may not affect the spread.

Long term investors do not care about the small distorsions caused by the ex-dividend trading.
