Taxes too -- interest sucks at tax time. To compare on a pre-tax basis, the pref market grosses up dividends by 30%.  This is a rough approximation ofc.  Lots of retail investors pay little ...more

You are mixing up Dividend Amount and Yield.   Yield on these are much much much higher than GICs Yields....    Yields factor in Share Price.   "X" is trading ...more

Another interesting comarison.... T's vs C's

Long term Charts shows something interesting.   From 2016 to 2020 the C's share price remain flat at just above $25, while the T's share price was a Yo-Yo, down and up.     ...more
