The majors were planning on investment staying the same going forward regardless of which person won the presidency. If illegal mining gets tackled, legal mining will be important to replace that income. The gold from illegal mining is still sold to legit buyers of gold that package it up for export. There just currently is no good controls in place for the supply chain but there should be in time.
