Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 162,000 net acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

BID - ASK DEPTH?

On a few occasions, I have posted level 2 for the Board. I did more of it last year. I will post it tomorrow for all to see during the day a number of times. What will we see?

There is a pattern that has developed in the bid - ask for BTE on the TSX that is not seen in many of the other oil stocks. I have not seen it on the NYSE listing.

Lately, the volume is lower. The day begins with a bid - ask volume that you might see with other oil stocks. But during the day at different times very very heavy volumes appears suddenly on either side of the bid - ask that could lead could one to conclude that the SP is being manipulated? or being range bound by market makers? Nevertheless, the depth on either side of the bid-ask during these times is suddenly very very deep. As well, the very large volumes disappear from the Level 2 chart once the TSX closes at 4pm.
