Baytex Enercom Conference - August 7-10

Great timing right after Q2 results!

It would be interesting to see if they talk about a US listing.

Great timing.

Hey hey BSW ! You read my mind !!!! Excellent strategy from Baytex !!!  With their best quarter (Q2) of all time, in hands !!! And probably, more drilling perspective and results, especially in Q3, normally the Quarter with the most CAPEX !!! All that to present their vision : TAKING THE LEAD CREATING ENERGY CREATING VALUE Remember they know where to drill compare to others energy ...more

Just a reach out to BSW and/or Red as I respect your opinions...do you know - or does anybody know - back in 2014 the share price peaked around $44 and then in 2015 it was still circa $20 - before trailing down as we know.... My question is - does anybody know what the share float was back then? Just trying to gauge what this may be able to get to again one day...looking at the current float and ...more

Hey DFC, thanks for the question. I maintain a quick analysis I have pasted in below for you which tracks Historical vs Current Re: 1. Share float 2. Debt 3. Increase in prodution 4. Gains on F/X vs history Of course what most don't think about is as the float goes down the metrics improve including the a yield on a future divy...if all things remain constant in theory a dividend never grows ...more

Wow! Killer information BSW - big thank you. Interesting float back in the day - certainly knew it would have been lower but I was not sure by how much...and seriously impressed by the production increase over the years - fantastic growth. I am also very much in the camp of share buybacks versus firing up the divy train. Thank you again. DFC

No problem DFC This is why it's important to walk it through. Of course there are other considerations; 1. Operating efficiency and netbacks today are well ahead of where they were historically  2. Clearwater (new asset) is one of the most economical plays in North America  So to be conservative I ignore those two facts and stick with the numbers. Most people will look at float ...more

125 million shares in 2014.  568 million shares now.  How about you ask someone who lost half a million on the stock and not a wannabe like Wolf who didn't predict this recent drop and doesn't own a share. 4 times as many shares now, 4.5 about, $11 to $12.50 would be realistic as a ceiling with a dividend.
