Ian getting stronger
Pressure has dropped to 989mb , wind speed gain 20mph and now at 65mph while storm movement remains NW at 13mph . You can see the pinwheel shape developing as the storm spins and low pressure draws the cloud formation toward the center . We'll see how serious this one could be tomorrow as it passes the Caymans and approaches Cuba . Every update shows the path moving further to the west but until the eye forms , predicting the track remains uncertain .

Ian has been upgraded to a hurricane now but it seems like the market is gonna blow this threat off too (pun intended)

It's not likely to be a major hurricane and isn't far enough west to impact a lot of oil platforms.

Maybe , I'm no expert on hurricanes but NOAA is predicting a catagory 4 (5 is strongest) and the path can change but on the track shown so far , it shouldn't hamper offshore work . Time will tell .

Ian wind speed is up to 80mph but still only moving at 14mph over the warmest water in the Caribbean which keeps fueling the intensity .
