Cardinal energy pays 6 cents per share each month.  Current yield is 9.3%.

I think we have a chance to see that with Baytex, already beginning of 2024, if WTI reach 100$ only for 6 months in 2023 and the others 6 months between 80 to 90$. They are able to make easily 800M$ of FCF to reduce the net debt at 400M$ or so !!! They are very well positioned to do it, with boe/d increasing yearly for 4 to 5%.

pay down debt and buy back shares.....and no dividend....the re rating would be much better if they did that.....

@ ratsnake220 - Pay down debt and buy back shares or pay shareholders a dividend?  Comes down to how good management is.  It's easier to make money when you have money so in most instances, company mangement can generate a better return with a large capital pool than a small investors can generate with a smaller capital pool.  Even if a small investor holds 10,000 shares, the ...more

Red I think a wti price that averages in the 90s over the next two years will result in shareholder returns > 1 dollar per share in 2024. Sharecount by year end 2023 should be less than 500 and returns should be around 600 in 2024 so roughly 1.20 a share.  If we get a spike into the 100s, which many analysts are calling for, then the timeline on returns accelerates.  China appears ...more

@ David01monreal - The probability of the USA refilling the SPR with Russian oil is slim to none and slim just left town.  Filling the SPR with Russian oil would fly in the face of the price cap on Russian oil and undermine the geopolitical strategy of isolating Russia for starting the war against Ukraine.   From a practical standpoint, Russia doesn't have the tankers to ship ...more
