Not sure if this matters here (other than maybe offer some hope) but Freeport LNG has finally received approval to restart operations . This will require turning on the coolers and chilling the piping system to a temp that will allow LNG to flow . It may be 2 weeks before they can load ships but it's a long awaited bit of good news .

They are only permitted for the warm up. For the actual start of production ,they need another request and approval.

Actually its commissioning and cooldown of loop 1 transfer piping and to reinstate boil off gas management system . Cooling the piping will probably take a week alone and more approvals will be needed as this process unfolds . Freeport has 3 liquifaction trains which have been idle for 7 months , everyone knows it will take time but at least the wheels are in motion . Freeport applied to begin ...more

It's a start and positive for Freeport except if you are looking at this as a possible catalyst for any gas producers, the short answer is NOPE. There is an abundance of Natural gas in storage and the 2 million Freeport would account for would not really put a dent into it at this point. It MIGHT have helped if they had manged to open as projected in August but the restart was delayed on 5 ...more
