Cooling the piping will probably take a week alone and more approvals will be needed as this process unfolds . Freeport has 3 liquifaction trains which have been idle for 7 months , everyone knows it will take time but at least the wheels are in motion . Freeport applied to begin restart procedures on Monday , PHMSA government inspectors were on site Wednesday and this approval was issued today , thats not bad . As I said , I'm not sure if it will matter tomorrow but it will as the plant begins operations again .
It's a start and positive for Freeport except if you are looking at this as a possible catalyst for any gas producers, the short answer is NOPE. There is an abundance of Natural gas in storage and the 2 million Freeport would account for would not really put a dent into it at this point. It MIGHT have helped if they had manged to open as projected in August but the restart was delayed on 5 different occasions. So yes it's positive but no it's not really going to change anything at this point.
