I don’t like this

When oil is going up, but oil stocks red or flat. This is not a good sign,
Comment by 1234bmth on Sep 06, 2023 2:01pm
WTI is almost $90 and oil stocks are traded like WTI is $70 to$75. Either there will be a jump on oil stocks or a correction in oil price. Current situation can't last long.

I say  oil will stay in the eighties plus  just 3 weeks left in a great quarter  the stock price will continue to climb .
Comment by 1234bmth on Sep 06, 2023 3:44pm
The point is that oil can't go up every day at some point it will flatten or go lower, since oil stocks are  not moving up enough in line with oil price, so will oil stocks hold at least flat or go down not more than 2% if oil drops back to $82?
Comment by masfortuna on Sep 06, 2023 3:57pm
You keep posting this stuff every day. Bottom line here is that there is a risk oil drops and the sp will drop.  Maybe invest in something that allows you not to worry on a daily basis like a gic?

Everyone keeps posting every day, and I have the right to post as long as I don't insult anyone, I respect everyone's idea as long as they don't insult me. Investing is my personal choice and expressing my opinions based on logic or facts is my right. So if you like a lot BTE then can I tell you to sell all your portfolio and buy BTE because you believe in it ? Obviously not, it is ...more

Np mate.  You can post all you want except that ALL your posts are "what if?" negative scenarios. So either you are trying to create FUD or investing in oil really isn't for you. And getting "3 likes" on post with no factual information is also suspicious?
Comment by 1234bmth on Sep 06, 2023 6:52pm
My posts could be negative or positive, but they are based on facts, read all my posts I have both negative and positive, owning a company's shares doesn't mean we should always lie even if the company is not doing good. Truth is truth regardless of owning or not a company's shares. Your posts are also based on if, but the difference is you talk only about if oil is going up. Oil ...more

Hey 1234bmth... always good to have concerns my opinion/hope is we see oil hover in the 80's over the long haul. We don't need 100 oil we know what happens next. My belief is with oil in the 80's investors will see Bte hit its milestones quicker and feel comfortable on taking the risk of investing. im looking a year out and where Bte its dividend debt and float will be and I like what ...more

I prefer too a steady $80+ than going to $100+ and drops back fast.
Comment by masfortuna on Sep 06, 2023 10:59pm
The bottom line is this will go up and down but as long as it goes up more than it goes down , you win :)

Shubham Gargs view was he would sell when oil hit $95-120 a barrel and company hit 8x free cash flow in value
Comment by Kelvin on Sep 07, 2023 6:30am
What does 8x free cash flow mean exactly. I watched a few of his videos and he uses that metric alot. I googled it and asked a few people and got different answers. One answer was that EV is 8 times fcf. Another was Total Assets is 8 times fcf. And another was book value is 8 times more than fcf. The last two don't include market cap.
Comment by clamlinguine on Sep 07, 2023 11:17am
Market cap plus debt is EV (enterprise value) afaik.
Comment by Kelvin on Sep 07, 2023 11:39am
clamlinguine, it makes sense because the accounting equation is: Total Assets = Total Claims on Assets = Liabilities (debt) + Shareholders Equity. Therefore Shareholders equity = Total assets minus debt. Shareholders equity would be what the market judges the total assets to be worth minus debt ie market cap. So total assets = debt + market cap. But totsl asset value fluctuates every second ...more

Yes.  In fact, regardless of daily and weekly fluctuations, as long as WTI averages $80+ in Q3 (which now seems likely), Q3 results are bound to be spectacular.  The market will notice this, and the stock price will jump, as it did last quarter.
