Oh is this a reply to me? I didn't realize .. ... not forever that's mathematically impossible as the 50 day will rise up to meet the price as long as the price doesn't go up forever. The 50 day is not static either .. but sure I get your point that the time frame is all over the place .. DOW crashed it was trading 11000 points below 50 day ... where is it today, 2 months later, at its 50 day.
I will say that if a stock is trading far above its 50 day after a spurt the support levels still have to determined and they will be important somewhere down the road and tested .. but as you say one has to talk about time frames ..
