Momentum

Stock prices can be so insane. BTO started the day off priced at 8.75 and fell to 8.49. That was a 3.0822% drop. The price of gold? It started at 1979 and finished at 1979.

So, if gold price stays the same today, do you think BTO will pull up the 26 cents it lost yesterday? Or maybe for the same reason as yesterday, it would recover the 26 cents and gain another 26 cents to close at 9.01?

Some days life doesn't make sense. But hey today could be a wholesale reversal. The good part is that every day's closing price of gold will help Q3 results!

Mali is weighing on the SP.  if the border stays closed and unrest continues, Fekola could be impacted.  That's the risk being priced in at the moment.  Otherwise this should be at $10.

The government announced the resumption of commercial air travel effective July 25, 2020 and the reopening of land borders to passenger traffic on July 31, 2020. The Government of Mali has implemented enhanced screening and quarantine measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

https://www.miningweekly.com/article/b2gold-says-mali-border-shutdown-to-be-short-lived-after-coup-2020-08-21 The military junta that overthrew the president ordered the country's borders re-opened on Thursday. But the 15-nation Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) instructed its members to keep their borders with Mali closed in response to Tuesday's coup

Brewster, you are right. I hadn't counted on the outside reaction. I thought the border was open again almost immediately. That would be in line with Clive's comments that the opening would be a matter of days, maybe weeks, but not months. I expect the Economic Community to back off very soon, if they haven't already done so. Their aim was to protect democracy, and it seems elections ...more
