Burcon NutraScience Corp > CEO leaving

CEO leaving

He was not fired but chose to leave.  I believe he owns 2.5 million shares and paid for those out of pocket (plus $1 million for his debentures).

All large, long-time supporters of BU that I know believe his replacement will be a food industry veteran and can only be an improvement. Time will tell.

Bunge is very pleased with the Merit protein isolate. Production is at approximately 75% after a bunch of growing pains and, as per Merit's public comments, should be at 100% capacity utilization by Q3. That is, three shifts per day.

The CEO  has no day-to-day involvement in the production plant so I don't see how him leaving says anything about Merit.

# RiskSmart, I am sorry, but your four comments were all wrong. With two of your wrong assumptions, the correct information is even freely available to everyone. And production does not mean that it can be sold. A not insignificant part is produced for stock. And what is Tergesen's position at Merit on behalf of burcon? he is always very well and promptly informed about Merit

#groundskeeper, WELL DONE!!! Not everyone here seems to be able to do that

Why does Martin Schweizer (VP Technical Development Burcon NutraScience Corporation), the single mind behind Burcon technology, have so few shares? No one can know the technology, the possibilities and the problems with it better than he does.
Comment by groundskeeper on Jan 11, 2022 3:20pm
Some people are simply risk averse with their personal capital. Martin is fully invested in the technology with his "heart and mind" He does have a decent amount of Options that he can trigger if the price rises . . . . I would not question Martin's commitment to BU or the technology.

the basher tries really everything today is his very last chance...
Comment by Summer001 on Jan 12, 2022 4:03am
#groudskeeper, doesn't risk averse mean that Schweizer must have legitimate doubts about the technology? After all, he has let many of his stock options expire over the years. And if the only scientist invests only with his heart, isn't that a lack of confidence for investors?  After all, Invetsors can also just wait and see or sell their shares. The ceo leaves the company, approx. 80 ...more

Please do not view Martin S not holding a large number of shares as a negative towards the technology, or confidence in his "life's work".   I've met him a number of times and you will not find a more committed person to the company and its objectives.  We should all be extremely grateful to Martin and the WTC team (and to Randy "the wizard" Willardson ...more

#groundskeper, Martin Schweizer is part of Burcon's management team, so his publicly available insider transactions are certainly of interest. Every manager must be aware of this, regardless of what the actual basis of his actions may be. I share your doubts about the price targets mentioned by analysts and some on this board. Even at the current price level, Burcon is a highly ...more

Since Burcon has been listed on Nasdaq for a year, we should be glad that no investigation has been launched because of Tergesen's overly optimistic statements. AWM would certainly have reason to complain. AWM would certainly have reason to complain after losing over 60% in a few months. I would not be surprised if Burcon tried to prevent this by sacking Tergesen.

Summer, you certainly are persistent in your negative spin on this company and really does make one wonder what your end game is?  Burcon is a speculative but interesting stock and I hope that now that Tergesen is gone we will be able to land a replacement that can take us to the next level. Again, what is your end game?
Comment by futuregains on Jan 13, 2022 2:34pm
It's kinda obvious. No one posts on another stocks bullboard (not a shareholder) unless they want to bring the price down.

I agree but man Summer, get a life - WOW
Comment by Summer001 on Jan 14, 2022 11:50am
Tergese was just a puppet. The game goes on. Who do you think always cashes in on price swings upwards?
Comment by Alternative on Jan 14, 2022 10:32pm
Tergesen and insiders have to report every trade they make, show me where he has been trading in the last 12 months???

#Alterative, compare the holdings of the Chinese major shareholder over the last 20 years. By the way, he has officially subscribed to at least his share in all capital increases and has converted all convertible loans. How can the very significant decline to only about 20% be explained? Any idea? Why, for example, was AWM able to buy 3.9 million shares in Q2 (approximately 50% of ...more
