PDAC is an event that in some cases is used as a "legitimate" way of sending fear into investors of some stocks - obviously those investors who don't attend and speak to the companies for themselves. When you see these type of price drop at the start of PDAC obviously there are those investors who will think something was said to some attending that might have caused them to start selling their position. Opportunists uses these types of events to their advantage, especially when they want to pick up lots of shares at lower prices in a particular stock. Some may say this is just theory, but there are realities behind this - only protection is know what you are investing in well enough so that you don't get "scared" out of your position.
