RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Board resigns and Lenders demand payment My earlier points though muddled were more to say, that if you were to run a firesale and sell the company in pieces, bankruptcy would make a lot of sense.
With 363 sales you can sell individual groups of assets free and clear of liabilities (including the liabilities associated with laying off employees), which makes buying those pieces more appealing.
Also the fact of the matter is there are no companies that would naturally be interested in all of the companies assets (that I could find). But a DD company might want the DD assets and a Mexican drilling co might want the mexican assets.
Again, this is the very optimistic side of things, I don't think this is great news.
