SP above takeover price

Interesting that the share price has exceeded the takeover offer price/share today. Anyone have thoughts on this? Is it shorts covering positions, or is the offer drawing attention to the company and its value? I havent seen this happen before with other takeovers Ive owned.

It happens occasionally when the buyout offer is preceived, by the market , to be too low. An example would be Brookfield having had to up the offer for Inter Pipeline three times, before it was accepted by the shareholders.
