RE:U.S. Housing Starts Numbers Beat Estimates 1,496k annualizedExactly, The higher trading volume we saw yesterday helps -- it was 5x the average of 40k/day. I sure wish they had at least rubber stamped the NCIB for optional deployment now as the opporutnity for the firm to remove shares on the cheap is waning. After all, the mill is booking ~~ $300,000 or $400,000 a day in free cash by my estimate, so that would have been good dry powder to use.
I have seen the bid/ask this moring creep from opening low (1.34) to mildly below (1.45) and now it's back to up (1.50). I have no idea how this week plays out but think it could be very dramatic.
Last of all I follow all the traders bros/lumber guys/timber girls/armchair economists on Twitter. It's amazing the level of lumber disucssion & interest that's starting to emerge. If we get some interest from outside the sector this is going to go wild. Moreover, yesterday's big % puts this on the radar screen for non forestry folks. Everyone loves a rally, and the other bubbles are getting tired (bitcoin, MJ, gold?) so why not take a break from Tesla, by something that trades at 40% of book value, and play the longer term and highly certain game? That's my ideal at least.
