Portable mill

Don't want to be a party pooper, but you can buy your own sawmill for $3k+ and demand is high: https://www.npr.org/2021/05/17/996913329/as-lumber-prices-climb-diy-ers-cut-out-the-middle-man-and-mill-their-own I still strongly believe that the days of high lumber prices are over.

I know a guy that built his own years and years ago.  The reality is, this is way too impractical for most and you still need the raw input materials.

Of course demand is high that's a cool thing to do and has a Henry David Thoreau vibe to it.  I'll buy one sooner than later. Despite that, the gravy train of mall retail wages is too great a lure for me in this scenario you've proposed.  A cursory google tells me experienced operators get maybe 100 bf an hour cutting spruce.  So, 8 hours for 0.8 MFBM.
