Another Assessment
CIX has undertaken an acquisition strategy. Initial quarterly results have just come in. Do you feel this is a viable strategy and where could CIX be in 5 years? That said, at this price point ($14.30 or so a share) and a healthy dividend, could money be made on the stock over the next 2-3 years? Is $30 a share doable?
We are not so sure about a double in three years, but CIX has always been a good acquiror. When it buys a company 90% of the assets stay, and it sees significant cost synergies. We like the planned US spin out, and 4X earnings is too low in our view for a company with a solid 20 year+ history. We think it is higher in two years, with a nice dividend while one waits.
