This is why you do not depend on them, do your own calculations always to verify accuracy, same with info from other people. The best people analyzing info show their work so you can follow easily what they are looking and how they came to their conclusions.
Some information sources use back dated info and do the calculation, others will do a cumulative 12 months (which will give you wild numbers on 'veriable' or dividends that have grown recently) and almost all sources will not change their calculations until after the current announced dividend has been paid out. But as investors we are forward looking so almost everyone will talk about the upcoming yeild.
