An Observation

Nobody really posting on CJ of late and l wonder why.. l bought for the first time at $6.85  and added 1.50% more at $6.41  now at $7.21 and since l bought both in May 2023 l have yet to receive my first Dividend , and that's a welcome bonus , something on other boards l see some shareholders discount as not important. I don't , paying down debt with an excellent div is great in my mind , buying back shares in place of the div is not. It might reward mgmt but not us. I would think we as shareholders buying a stocks know where we would like to employ our divs not being at the mercy of Mgmt and the market. The Market is quite capable of going up 20% or down 20% but money reinvested over a year results in 10% extra shares and hence 10% more in divs. Seems simple math and it is.

For a change, maybe the Saudis are going to be our friends if they do something to squeeze the short sellers as they warned. If that happens, then yes, it's "to the moon Alice."  ;-)

I wouldn't really consider this upward movement (not until we pass the 7.70s)... just a return to where we were this time last month... and @ CountryBoy... there hasn't been much worth talking about here lately, we are just putting time in until the company does some more exciting things or the oil price spikes again... right now we sit and collect and accumulate a bit more ...more

Not sure how I feel about Cardinal's comments with ATB research about looking for aquisitions in order to maintain dividend down to $60 WTI Their opinion was that the dividend is sustainable in current form only to the low $70's for WTI Acquisitions have not really panned out in the short term for Tamarack and Baytex

I'll give my investment to MURRAY EDWARDS and the remainder of CJ's team and let them do what they do.    I not sure you can compare CJ with let's say TVE.   Both are great companies and operate responsibly.  I shifted my majority of holdings from TVE to CJ.  Why, wanted the monthly divs sooner than TVE's longer term trajectory.

Any purchase that increases debt or share count and I'll be gone.  It takes at least a year for the stock to recover as is the case with TVE (a year and counting!) and now BTE.

Agree , had significant holdings of TVE as well , stocks a disaster , Brian couldn't even bring himself to trot out the trusty old "return of capital framework" last earnings , believe and hope CJ is a different beast

Haha, I think your gonna be gone soon with that statement... Have a good one... This to me seems like a pretty good time to load up, most energy names have pulled back, better to make moves now to consolidate, grow and up reserves rather than when oil is at 85-90... We have been working down the debt load for opportunities, this seems like a decent one, I'm all for it if it makes ...more
