Yup.  The bias is all in the names. OPEC - The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries  IEA - International Energy Agency That is funny...and clear. GLTA

Right but as investors it is important to know which of the two is more accurate regarding demand forecasts based on fundamentals versus one that has some wishful thinking in the mix. Nuttall, for one, seems to be on the side of OPEC.

It is important to know which is more accurate which is why accurate sourcing of the facts is important rather than relying on the reporting of a publication with a clear bias right in their name or one might say, wishful thinking, in their reporting of them, is important as investors.  Nuttall, for one has been less than accurate with his future oil price predictions.  To account for ...more

Right, and today CJ releases Q4 after market. As investors, any thoughts on what we will see? There hasn't been much discussion about this on here.

Likely nothing interesting... Numbers will be mildly positive as price rose a little, next Q seems like it will be a more significant rise with todays price... No dividend movement, they already gave guidance they expect to keep payout flat this year... Steady as she goes...

Tend to agree as the dividend, and cap-ex will have eaten most of the budget.  If they managed to pay down some debt that would be positive.  In fact, if they can pay down debt and fund SAGD that would be very positive especially moving forward as SAGD de-risks towards completion. GLTY and all

Well so much for paying down debt.  With any luck the increased production levels in Q4 carry on to take advantage of increased oil prices as the summer driving season approaches and the WTI-WCS spread narrows as TMX fill approaches. Rangebound until more positive updates I expect. GLTA

Well that prediction was a failure, if I do say so myself, we went from $43.55 to $33.69 on the netback that's pretty significant... We mildly rose on production...300ish barrels... Bank Debt rose a tiny amount... but the Capital Deficiency jumped large, $20M Still steady as she goes, I purchased more at the start of the week... but this might cause a dip in share price and ...more

Have you seen the price of oil and US/CND lately.  Killing it this Q and likely well past driving season.  Enjoy the Divi 10% at currend SP and wait.  Rotation is also our friend.
Comment by meritmat on Mar 14, 2024 7:22pm
Yup.  Been putting there div into other stocks. Think I'll start adding more
Comment by pkrash on Mar 14, 2024 7:39pm
If this "sells on the news" I'll be picking up more.

And 1st quarter is almost in the bank.   I believe oil has been higher in this qt then the last one
Comment by caretired1 on Mar 14, 2024 8:38pm
yep   q4 was good proof for all the doubters about the dividend being sustainable
