Even though it comes at the end of their mandate, it was probably one of the most important criteria given that they were established during the first energy crisis when most nations, scientists and even oil producers believed that the world was running out of oil. We in fact are, just not as fast as preciously believed due to innovations in recovery techniques. Fossil fuels are finite and the transistion is inevitable. Whether the world uses RNG or nuclear or solar or wind or whatever tech comes to the forefront. Fossil fuels, even if made clean, will run out and if made renewable, will cease to be fossil fuels, like RNG. Any organization that was formed to advise on policy is political as was the IEA, since it was formed. They were tasked with reducing the worlds consumption of energy. They not only preach conservation of non-renewables but renewable energy too in order for there to be enough energy for all. Obviously non-renewable energy is at the top of their list.
