In case you didn't know...

this sector seems to be resolute in its dedication to ensure that shareholder returns are front and center. On the worst day in some time, with WTI and NG sitting at or near lows for the year, VET just boosted dividend by 20%.

Those selling are either foolish or strapped and require the $$$ to feed other things.

GLTA.

Too true.  I own VET and substatially added here.  Going to collect and wait for oil to bounce and SAGD to come online.  Also this stock just became a takeover target at these prices imo. GLTY and all

Takeover. A real possibility. Acquisition greatly increased proven and possible reserves. GLTA

Ok takeover at what price your call....

Curreny fair market value approx, $9.00 IMHO. GLTA

WindS, that is a huge jump. CJ is oversold, my opinion, oil is going to recover, my opinion, but the spread from say $6 to $9 would be a reach, let's say $8.99, that's more like it...   P

If someone was to take over CJ now it would most likely be over $10.00.  I had Daylight Energy and it got $10.06 in a takeover while the share price was $4.59.  Deer creek energy and Nexen were also good ones.

Agree with you Pottsy; good point. the big boys are saying, BUY BUY BUY,  CJ. The other question is; which major would be interested in taking over CJ???. GLTA
Comment by Pottsy on Dec 13, 2023 7:47pm
Well guess who is the largest CJ shareholder snd guess which company he runs, hmm  might be a conflict of interest.   P

CNQ.  I wouldn't rule cve out either.
Comment by meritmat on Dec 13, 2023 11:28pm
Don't take a major to take out a 25k boe oil company.  In fact most won't bother looking at a company this size unless there sitting on a massive land base or have something they really want.   Don't think major. Think more of a mid size company or maybe a company that's private and wants to go public.  Would a company like say Whitecap be interested in something ...more

The thing that makes it possible for CVE or CNQ interested is their SAGD pjoct is close to CNQ and CVE SAGD project from my understannding. CJ has 3 spots where they think will produce 6000-10000 boed for 20 years.  That would fit in with CVE still,  I would think.  Theres even a chance of that number going up.
Comment by Quintessential1 on Dec 14, 2023 8:50am
I wouldn't mind a CVE takout in a 2.5 : 1 share ratio.  CVE has lots of experience with SAGD. In the meantime watch CJ POP.  The bid/ask premarket are both $6.25.  GLTA
Comment by meritmat on Dec 14, 2023 9:09am
possibly but cve has also sold some thermal that did not fit in there core.  Bottom line they can increase there own core areas doing expansions then bother with a small junor company that comes with a bunch of bagage
Comment by Quintessential1 on Dec 14, 2023 9:25am
There is a difference between seeling an isolated pocket in North East Alberta and buying one that overlaps your existing operations in Southern Sask. CJ bid / ask now both at $6.30 and rising apparently.  Going to be an interesting open. GLTA

If they did buy cj they would probably break the company up and sell all their convential assets.
