RE:RE:Calm before the stormFor the environmentalists, pipelines are just a another gift to the fossil fuel industry. And they're correct. The problem is that we can't just shut off fossil fuels completely starting today. What they don't realize is that the oil companies will find a way to get product to market and that means those "ultra-safe" trains. Things are moving slowly to a less carbon-intensive economy but the protesters want immediate large-scale action. I don't know about you, but I like the idea of turning up the thermostat when I get home. I guess their solution would be 15 layers of clothing and a few blankets.
