RE:RE:RE:You missed my whole pointYes! A month ago my son (who is in high school) and I watched the Netflix movie 'Look Who's Back'. It's a good movie and well worth watching.
Anyways... a couple weeks ago he had an assignment that involved identifying a topic... taking a position (for or against)... and speak to the class with goal of convincing them to side with him.
He took it upon himself to read up on the speaches Hitler gave and the mannerisms he used. He crafted his speech using similar words and delivered using same manerisms (eg, adjusting tone/inflection of voice, raising his hand to his heart, pounding the podium with a fist, etc). Apparently by the end of it he received the loudest applause and everyone in the class sided with him. He got an A on the assignment from his teacher. He's thinking of telling her at the end of the semester who he modelled his speech after. Our teachers are not paying attention or have lost sight of history. Sad.

In many ways, this pandemic "event" is a treacherous universal lesson for humanity.
It reminds me of a narrative once told to me by a friend: I do not remember the exact details
(names/dates or I would post it) but it's an excellent example of the dangers of "group think"
or susceptibility to mass hypnosis. I have never forgotten the example...
