I heard on TV the other day of car rental companies in the states using a GPS location devise "What Else" on their rentals to make sure they were not driven out of state and extra fees were imposed on customers depending what the customer did with the car while in their possession. They did not inform customers when picking up their rental that a location tracking device was installed on the vehicle.
Nice Eh! Stiff them when they return it.
If you travel to the States and rent a vehicle it may be worth asking the rental agent if that feature is installed on the vehicle they are renting to you before you leave their yard.
