Old Nagger, GoNat. I've always valued your opinions. Can someone please explain to me the record Nat Gas production into these abysmal prices? I may be missing something here. Thx.

My take is that the Permian Basin is TX is drill drill driil primarily for oil. But with each shale oil well comes some Nat  Gas. I've read that is where the excess is coming from. Plus reseves are full. Now let's have some cold weather.

Low prices take care of low prices. There will be some curtailment of NG at these prices. Crew is going to almost double Condensate production in the 4Q, of which there is less than 3 weeks to go. This from Celius on NG today: With cheap #natgas prices, weaker wind generation, & (temporarily) more supportive temperatures, powerburn demand is very strong today. pretty straightforward, more and more nat gas production is from the various shale basins found in the US (Appalachia Marcelleus, PERMIAN  etc where gas is targetted on its own or often a product of tight/shale oil production . its relatively easy and cheap to drill using both VERY PROVEN fracing and horizontal drilling technologies.
