Interesting take from Micheal Simpson about the proposed merger with SPB! Heck, maybe Doug and the rest of the Executive gang won't get their $6.6 million in termination payments after all!

Yes, you can now guess why the board and management wanted this deal to go through. They will receive huge payouts.  The special advisors will all receive much larger fees as well. CIBC, HSBC, etc. The total costs of closing this deal are printed in the mailer to be not more than $19.9m. So the total cost of this deal is already around $26m or 10% of the company's current market cap. A ...more

Doug taking home an extra $1.6m on top of the other $434k when this deAl closes is nothing short of rediculous.  Highway robbery.  He did nothing but destroy shareholder value from Day 1.  Wow.   The VP of business dev't batting $700k is almost worse.   He should've been tarred and feathered for his performance as should've every single board member ...more
