RE:Question for the boardSeveral years ago I met a man who worked for Valero and said the gasoline/diesel retail industry works thus:
1) Central Refinery owned by several companies (often E&Ps) and operated by the one with largest working interest.
2) All tank trucks in region (Shell, Exxon, Petro-Canada etc) fill up at refinery, and add bucket of additives into fill cap at top of tank.
3) Tank trucks drive and deliver their load to their respective gas station, and while driving the additives are distributed throughout load by shaking of truck on roads.
4) Because North America loves gasoline more than diesel, and opposite for Europe, their are a fleet of tankers taking excess diesel from gulf coast to Europe a carrying gasoline from Europe to NA.
So in summary 99.999% of gasoline is the same regardless of brand, ie Husky, it's just the additives that are different.
