Wow thats a pretty optimistic viewpoint from Eric but even if he is only half right that would mean the debt target would be hit by March/April at a $35 CAD share price triggering 100% shareholder returns. That would make buybacks still a pretty good deal under $30 CAD right now (especially without the upcoming 2% buyback tax) and the warrants repurchase was an outright steal.   I am ...more

8.5% to all time highs then there is no resistance all blue skys , CNQ went on a 120% run after taking out all resistance cheers

Those who bought in 2020 can't afford to sell (taxes). But its actually been an underperformer recently - YTD +13% vs SU +13, CNQ +23, IMO +32 and MEG +50 (a little better on 1 year chart). Why? Poor refining results - consumes too much capex and capital (and management time probably).  They actually bought more refining assets while being net sellers of upstream assets.
