Personally, I think that the Q3 numbers to be released Thursday, will be of little importance, even if they miss or surprise a little. The wild card is........will the shorters try to distort the results. This I think, could have a more profound impact than the numbers themselves.
CXR is not the same company today as it was in the 3rd quarter, so to an institution that is waiting for a buy signal, the Q3 is not the event that will provide it. To the big money players, seeing the SP break out above the $45.00 level would be more of a buy signal than what Q3 will deliver.
So what will be that catalyst, to get the SP above $45? My guess is time, where the spotlight is shifted away from this sector. Then it can start trading on fundamentals, and Q4 will provide the first glimpse of the new CXR.
