Wealth TransferIt really hadn't hit home with me, until the other day when I had to get a complete fill at the gas station, and it cost me about $25 less than my last fill. "Wow", I thought, "just think of all of the extra money that is going to end up in consumers' pockets!" There are a lot of people in the world who don't have stock portfolios, and who are more likely to spend any extra money that ends up in their pockets on goods and services. Of course there is going to be a lag, but I would bet that this transferred wealth is going to soon start showing up in the world economy. One of the criticisms that I've heard levied against the central banks of the world is that monies that were supposed to make their way into the world economies haven't. As much as $30 oil has kicked the shxt out of my home province, maybe it will end up being the catalyst that triggers the next round of growth in the rest of the world.
