RE:AMCO Drug PricesI honestly don't think generic control is required. You have to look at the market as a whole, not just one or two drugs. If generics are on average a quarter of the price of what branded drugs (that are under price control) are selling for, then why reinvent the wheel. If these drugs were so wildly profitable (as some claim) then where's the competition? There's no patent on these drugs. One has to use logic, and logic tells you they have a generic drug system that saves the NHS money. I personally think people keep looking around corners for things that aren't there.

I suspect the fear of drug price caps on generics in the U.K. is being blown out of proportion.....1) I think the British government has enough on their plate with Brexit (which I anticipate will be a long process), and it's unlikely that passing legislation on price caps on generic drugs will be a priority for the government in the foreseeable future.......2) Though AMCO is now a CXR subsidiary, it is a company based in Britain, and I don't think the government is interested in making life tougher for companies operating in Britain - in fact, they are likely worried that companies will flee the country and set up shop in other EU member countries (especially true with financial services companies)........This idea that the British government is salivating at the mouth to cap generic drug prices does not seem to be based in reality - I'll believe it when legislation is put before parliament for a vote.......
