RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Guess what...

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Guess what...Investors are unhappy with their investment because they are being scammed by the short sellers who manipulate the stock price. SP does not reflect company fundamentals and ability to easily make interest payment pay dividends and pay off debt obligations.

What is building up now, under your nose, is a massive unrest amongst longs who are really really unhappy with this company and I think that what will be expressed in bright colours on the con call this Friday, is that unrest. Analysts are taking in the face from their clients for lowering. You know that. Even if they say they met and keep guidance, none will trust it. if they miss on either, there will be a giant WTF. This is VRX last fall. Just hasn't caught up with CXR. Baby Valeant. They will never shake that provenance. quote=adamchess]It is unethical and immoral to sell short and then manipulate the stock price through smear campaigns and manipulative trading activities which is rather obvious. It is interesting what you say about put options having the same affect as short selling and your buddy (assumed) CNIvesting is touting the benefits to longs of hedging by buying put options. Kind of like shooting yourself in the foot to get out of jail or some such comparison. No problem with temporary individual shorts who act on negative economics affecting a company as long as they don't bad mouth management and make up and exaggerate stories to scare investors to selling their shares.

select1011 wrote: Adamchess, if the current short interest in CXR were expressed through trades in the options market, the impact on the SP would undoubtedly be the same. You know that they are connected markets fully. In any case, its legal and definitely not unethical or immoral to sell short. There are many individuals and private funds acting for clients who have shorted, millions of shares. This investing strategy has been a successful one especially this calendar year. What I agree with you on is that some shorts have won the communications space, and it was a space for CXR management to lose, which they did. And here is why. When critics were calling doubt on the roll-up model as VRX was imploding, CXR was still touting the roll-up model. At Q1 they were still talking about acquisitions, and had made some but weren't willing to be transparent. That was bizarre. I was long then. Direct a little of your anger toward the team at CXR - if you can get them to uncloak themselves from the strategic review.
adamchess wrote: Good luck to all except the shorts who deserve the same as any dirty poker player or other kind of thief. It may have been a bit of a noble pursuit at one time when bad managements were the obvious bad guys, but now the shorts use tactics that are down right dirty pool and effectively steal the savings of thousands of naive investors who trust the market to operate fairly and not manipulated by dirty hedge fund operators and supporting cast of thiefs. They are no better than those who fill our jails, imo. I don't see how IIROC and the SEC cannot catch these people and stop the SP manipulations that are now so common in the market? Without all these SP manipulations the effect of all the smearing campaigns is minimalized. IMO, the smear stories are published in order to fool authorities that there are reasons why the stock price is going down on a given day or week. Are they really so naive to believe people are buying and selling 100 share lots in CXR/CXRX for legitimate reasons? Sorry for whining. There should certainly be serious limitations put on short seller activities in the market. They can always buy the put options.
