Understanding the origins of all these old drugs

Understanding the origins of all these old drugs
Researching Concordia's #1 drug, Donnatal is fascinating.

Was a drug acquired by PBM Pharmaceuticals in the US, now called Revive. A non-public company.

The company's web site clearly states their mission;

"At Revive we identify pharmaceuticals with long histories of efficacy and reintroduce them to the market with reinvigorated marketing and sales support..."

They did that with Donnatal, even if the FDA has not found it to be a valid medication for the condition and it on it's hit list. Health Canada doesn't even allow it to be made available in Canada.

After "reinvigorating" Donnatal through price hikes that patients all over the net are complaining about, they sold it to Concordia in 2014 for cash and shares.
