Buyout tomorrow or Monday
I believe a bidding war has already taken place and the offer will be announced shortly. Today someone caught wind of this and leaked that the buyout is imminment. Someone else (or a short seller responsible for the first leak) realized that black stone and carlyle were longer in the process and realized they could make a killing by leading the market to believe that a buyout of cxr was no longer likely . Mangement realized that they could get a slight reversal after the drop by announcing they are still in negotiations as the market was too ignorant and emotional to realize this. However they could not say anymore until the deal is announced. This is just my personal opinion and I could be completely wrong. GLTA

I hope you're right but you must realize that securities laws require that material info be disclosed immediately. In the case of a takeover, as soon as proceedings are serious in any way (definition has been under test for the last 10 years, but usually involves some kind of board signature), must be disclosed.

When those short want to cover, they will do anything. 13.10 cdn between the high and low yesterday and you can bet shorts were covering.

I think you are completely right. It is an ongoing process. Also, any potential buyer can go hostile at any time and then this becomes a public bidding war if it is a low ball bid. Things are far from over. And for those shorts like Lattice and Select, you know shite about securities laws. Nothing needs to be announced until it is signed and approved by the board.
