RE:RE:RE:RE:Great success in Norway with Trondhein KinoI would say that 4DX and D-Box are actually very different experiences with the motion seat being the only thing they have in common. I agree that 4DX is a totally unique experience with special environmental effects (wind, rain, smell, lightning etc...) but I`m not convinced that this uniqueness will make it the preferred choice for regular movie goers. There are many people that are sensitive to allergies, scentschemicals, and germs who may avoid 4DX. I myself haven`t tried it yet so I cant really say for sure what I think of it. However, because the cost is so high, I may try it once or twice but it wont be my regular ticket purchase. Everyone is different but I actually see 4DX as the niche market and D-Box as the mass market potential here.
I hope your right about the home theatre market for D-Box. That could be huge and they could leverage their global theatre presence and growing Brand awareness to become the home theatre seat provider of choice.
I believe there is also potential for other new applications for D-Box technology that have nothing to do with Cinema, VR or Training simulators etc...
