There is too the bipolar  consideration of leasing costs..
If this is an operational expense, it can be considered to be a nominal liability rather then a debt.

You can certainly make this a cogent argument for DCM.

ROU of course also implies that it is an asset which can under certain circumstances generate revenue and incomes.

I use debt as bank debt myself.
