DFN in realtime @ $15.22 UNIT NAV

Showing a gain of about 41 cents since the April 15 numbers ( 14.90) , which Quadravest thinks is close enough to pay to commons. Doing that more than once has allowed DFN to fall close to the threshhold for paying, rather than having a 30 or 40 cents bigger cushion. DF meanwhile has come within range of equalling or passing  DFN.

Does anybody remember why DF was created? I'm guessing that DFN was so popular that they did it again creating the junior clone, DF.  If you have a different guess or an actual memory let's hear it.

I was wondering the same thing and poked around on Quadravest's site to see if I could figure it out.  I think that you must be right.   The thing about DF is that the payout history has not been very good.  Only $14.80 since December 06 and no special distributions.  They didn't pay on 60 months.  DFN has a much better payout history and probably deserves the ...more

DFN had a big advantage in doing several offerings at prices that were a big premium to the NAV.. and everybody , and I mean everybody who bought in at those prices, would be underwater now. One only has to look at the history of the falling NAV, ( not the history of paying out) to see that fact.

That advantage is history - the premium needed for a ATM or other issue just isn't there currently and if they do manage to squeeze one in there wouldn't be the positive impact on NAV you had in the days of fat premiums.Am considering a short against my DF holdings }

For DFN... i think the price will recover when they are forced to consolidate the share structure, likely right after they jack the yield on their preferreds to get high enough to be competiteve. IF DFN had been paying the big preferred yield , like on BK, FTN, FFN and LFE etc... they would already be underwater ..... might  be talking about recovery..
